Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

General Articles

They will refer to current issues related to research in its educational and scientific aspects. Aspects related to research in an area that are not based on the author's original results.

Investigations

Under this heading, the works must contemplate criteria such as the pertinent design of the investigation, the theoretical and methodological congruence, the rigor in the handling of the information and the methods, the veracity of the findings or the results, the discussion of results, conclusions, limitations of the study and, where appropriate, prospective. The extension of the texts must be 10 pages minimum and 17 maximum, including graphs, notes and references. Pages must be numbered and typed with one and a half spacing.

Review Articles

This type of contribution should contain an introduction at the background level of the topic addressed, the problem and contextualization briefly explained, with previous research should focus on the findings (it is not the summary of the study), theorists, purpose and/or research rationale. Regarding the method, it should be reflected as it was done: type of research, which was used to prepare the systematic review, by means of a protocol: The QUORUM guide (Quality of Reporting of Meta-analysis), the prism statement or what searched by keywords, in search engines, combined words, Boolean operators in the selection of study units, what were the exclusion and inclusion criteria, how many documents analyzed, what were they (you can make a graph, chart or table), what were the analysis criteria used for the interpretation of the findings. In the results and discussion, the interpretation and discussion must be done following the analysis criteria mentioned in the method, confrontation of the results of different originals, argumentation critique of the results, relate it to previous theories and research that placed in the introduction/theoretical references. conclusions, limitations of the study and, where appropriate, prospective. Book reviews

With a summary of the central theme, comments about it by the person who refers it. They must be structured with: title, author(s), year, editorial, number of pages. Maximum 10 pages.

Journal reviews

National or international journals whose subject matter is of interest to the university community will be referred to. They must be structured with: title, abstract in English, Spanish and French, description of the thematic area, type of article and periodicity, publisher, institution, country, location. Maximum 6 pages.

Thesis, dissertation or promotion review

Works by researchers from UPEL and other universities will be referred to. They must be structured with: title, author(s), summary of the research work in Spanish, English (abstract) and French with the keywords, type of research (Doctoral, Master's. Specialty...), tutor, department, university, approval date. Maximum 10 pages.

Review of websites, blogs and other electrónic documents

Works published on the Internet that are of interest to the academic and research field will be referred to. They must be structured in: title, author(s) of the review, brief information about the content, specification of electronic address(es) and the contributions that justify said reference. Maximum 4 pages.

Historical Review Gaceta de Pedagogía

This space will be dedicated to an article published in previous editions of the magazine, as it was originally written, and will be presented by an author from The idea of ​​this space is to recall the thoughts and debates of distinguished Venezuelan pedagogues who were authors of this magazine and examine its validity in the current context. It tries to contribute to the rescue of Venezuelan pedagogical thought, in particular, that generated in the spaces of the Pedagogical Institute of Caracas. Accompanied by the original data of the article, the data of the author(s) who made the presentation will be placed.

Historical Review of the Department of Pedagogy and its Great Pedagogues

This space will be dedicated to reconstructing the historical memory of the Department of Pedagogy, as well as highlighting the great pedagogues who gave life to the Department.

Events

Professors and researchers who attend national or international academic events may disclose them. They must indicate identification data: name of the event, place, date, objectives, results, conclusions and proposals generated in them. Also part of this section is the promotion and dissemination of conferences, congresses, meetings, symposiums and national and international conferences of interest to readers. Maximum 6 pages.

Research Advances

Researchers may submit partial research results that they consider relevant for publication. The works must be structured as follows: title, author, brief description of the research in which the results are framed and its relevance. Maximum 16 pages.
