PROMOTION OF SOCIO-EMOTIONAL SKILLS IN HIGH SCHOOL VALIDATION STUDENTS – WAYS OF INSERTING THEMSELVES INTO THE COLOMBIAN PRODUCTIVE APPARATUS

Abstract

Education nowadays is facing an infinity of changes and situations centered on social advances and transformations; from this point of view, it is pertinent to take a look at socioemotional skills, which can be understood as the set of abilities and skills that allow individuals to face daily tensions and problems and, at the same time, to relate with others in an effective way. For this reason, they are usually linked to the processes of promoting mental health and integral development and education; the socioemotional dimension in high school students acquires great relevance, because they are going through stages of change that may affect self-esteem and personal security. From there, emerges the purpose of the present theoretical contribution that lies in: reflecting on the promotion of socioemotional skills in high school validation students as the way to insert themselves in the Colombian national productive apparatus. The methodology used is based on a documentary review that responds to the integration of high school graduates to the productive apparatus of the country, which leads to keep in mind that socioemotional skills play an essential role in the lives of students, as they directly affect their welfare, social relationships, academic environment and job performance; which leads to regulate and manage their emotions along with those of the people around them, within contexts of high pressure that generate anxiety. Thus, providing students with socioemotional skills to allow them to manage their emotions; which will be useful to enhance academic performance and the achievement of such an important goal for their lives as obtaining a bachelor's degree.
