RESEARCH PROJECTS: A PERSPECTIVE FROM THE GENERAL SECONDARY EDUCATION CURRICULUM

This essay analyzes the incorporation and evolution of research projects in the Venezuelan secondary education curriculum, recognizing their importance in developing students' scientific, cognitive, and civic competencies. The methodology used consists of a documentary review and historical analysis of curricular reforms and educational regulations from 1969 to the present. The results show that, although research projects have been a constant component of the Venezuelan educational system, there are divergences between regulations and pedagogical practice, highlighting the need to strengthen teacher training and adopt flexible and contextualized approaches to foster a true research culture. It is concluded that research projects should be conceived as an ethical and collaborative process that enhances critical thinking and social participation, thus contributing to the comprehensive development of students and the progress of the country.
