DIGITAL VIDEO LIBRARY: A TOOL FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES IN PETROLEUM ENGINEERING STUDENTS

The national economic crisis has had devastating consequences on the oil sector, leading to the closure of wells and the abandonment of operational areas such as flow stations, which prevents student technical visits due to a lack of maintenance and safety conditions. In response to this problem, the article proposes the creation of a digital video library as a crucial educational tool for the development of professional competencies in Petroleum Engineering students. In the current era, the mastery of digital skills is essential for future engineers to face the technological challenges of a highly specialized sector. Methodologically, the study is framed within the quantitative paradigm, under the modality of a feasible project supported by field research. It is concluded that the video library constitutes an excellent initiative, as it allows students to transcend theory to visualize operational reality, providing quick and easy access to a wide range of educational resources on field processes
