Abstract

Education is pivotal to diabetes management, and technological advances offer effective strategies for promoting patient self-management. This intrinsic clinical case study explored the contribution of simulation as an advanced educational tool in a male patient with long-standing type 1 diabetes mellitus who exhibited insecurity in clinical decision-making. The findings demonstrate that simulation transforms theoretical knowledge into practical competence. By providing a safe environment, direct experiential learning enabled the patient to overcome the fear of making errors and grasp glycemic variability, ultimately shifting condition management toward conscious, autonomous control. In conclusion, clinical simulation serves as a robust epistemological strategy with significant potential to enhance quality of life and optimize self-management based on emerging empirical evidence
