Abstract

The teaching of mathematics has historically been considered a complex discipline, especially at initial educational levels. However, its fundamental role in the integral development of the individual is widely recognized. For this reason, the curricular programs have sought to incorporate innovative methodologies that promote attractive educational processes and that favor meaningful learning in the primary school students of the Colegio José Eusebio Caro educational institution in the municipality of Ocaña, Norte de Santander. In this scenario, the development of the research was oriented on a quantitative approach with the purpose of exploring the nature of the social phenomenon by sowing knowledge of mathematics teaching in the digital era, where the data triangulation technique was used to validate the information of fifth grade students in the use of technological tools, said information was collected through an observation log and a diagnostic test; to store all the information with the purpose of showing progress in the development of the research. From this premise, the present research work was carried out to generate a critical stance in students with the aim of awakening interest in learning mathematics in the context of the digital age, highlighting the emergence of technological innovation as a transformative paradigm in the evolutionary process of education and human development.
