Abstract

This essay examines the impact of incorporating the interactive educational software LEER on the development of literacy skills among first-grade students at the Los Negros School in the municipality of Algeciras, Huila. Rather than merely evaluating results, the analysis aims to understand how the integration of technological tools reshapes learning dynamics in rural settings, where access conditions and the particularities of the sociocultural context require pedagogical approaches that are context-specific and sensitive to diversity. To this end, a quasi-experimental design was developed with pre- and post-intervention assessments, involving two groups of nine students: an experimental group that used the software as a pedagogical aid and a control group that continued with traditional methodologies. The results show a significant difference between the two groups: while 50% of the students in the experimental group achieved literacy proficiency after 18 sessions, only 25% of the control group did so. The investigation allows that the possibilities are more for increase use the (ICT) Information and Communication Technologies for improving the educational creating. This possibility that the educational processes are relevant and motivating.
