Abstract

The purpose of this essay is to reflect on how teachers and administrators can, or cannot, channel their ability to feel, understand, control, and modify their own or their colleagues' emotional states in order to achieve healthy work environments where interaction is cordial and respectful. This involves generating strategies through actions directed by the principal that aim to raise awareness of these situations and promote personal self-control, thereby enhancing interpersonal relationships and improving the organizational climate. The ultimate goal is to foster and maintain harmonious environments that generate healthy coexistence and peaceful settings within the school. In this essay, we will present activities and a proposed implementation plan, based on theories of emotional intelligence, which affirm that emotional intelligence is an inherent part of interpersonal relationships. This involves abilities such as recognizing, understanding, and expressing emotions and feelings, comprehending how others feel, and relating to others. This will provide us with the tools to intervene in school environments, thus fostering the development of essential emotional skills in teaching and administrative staff. Therefore, it was fundamental in this essay to address an aspect that has been overlooked: the management of emotions in interpersonal relationships between teachers and administrators.
