Abstract

Chance and probability are fundamental concepts in mathematical education, but their inclusion in educational curricula has highlighted the lack of preparation among teachers to address these topics. This research proposes a series of methodological strategies aimed at improving the teaching of these concepts through a participatory and playful approach. Sequential activities were designed that incorporate cooperative learning methodology. This methodology allows students to work in groups, fostering social interaction and the development of interpersonal skills. By working together, students can share their ideas and collaboratively solve problems, enriching their understanding of chance and probability. Additionally, game-based learning was implemented, transforming activities into recreational and dynamic experiences. This approach not only makes learning more engaging but also facilitates the understanding of abstract concepts through practice. The results of implementing these strategies show that students not only improved their understanding of chance and probability concepts but also developed a greater interest in mathematics. The combination of cooperative and playful methodologies, along with the integration of technology, has proven effective in addressing these contents meaningfully. In conclusion, the teaching of chance and probability, contextualized and methodologically appropriate, benefits both students and teachers, promoting deeper and more lasting learning.
