Abstract

This study first examines the contributions of neurodidactics that are useful in teaching reading and writing to primary school children, with the aim of accelerating the acquisition of these skills. Second, it analyzes the benefits of neuroscience and neurodidactics in reading and writing instruction, highlighting their role in the creation of literary texts and the production of children's literature. By integrating research on the nervous system and pedagogical principles, neurodidactics is consolidated as an interdisciplinary approach that, when applied to teaching these fundamental skills, acts as an innovative and effective resource for reorienting and enriching the teaching-learning processes. In recent decades, the convergence of neuroscience and pedagogy has revealed that the human brain responds differently to different types of stimuli, which has led to a critique of traditional teaching practices. Within this framework, the methodology employed was framed within a qualitative research focused on documentary analysis; this resulted in the development of literary production, and the use of children's literature is presented as a powerful tool for fostering cognitive, emotional, and linguistic growth in the initial stages of schooling. Although the teaching of reading and writing has historically been the core of the curriculum, recent findings in neurodidactics underscore the need to integrate activities that mobilize multiple brain networks, thus fostering learning that is both more comprehensive and memorable. This study aims to examine how neurodidactics, mediated by the creation of texts and the circulation of works aimed at, and by, children, can concretely enrich reading and writing processes in the primary classroom, filling a gap that has, to date, limited the transfer of such innovative approaches  to the school field.
