EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AS A FOUNDATION FOR CONSTRUCTING SIGNIFICANT LEARNING

Abstract

The dynamics of school training are very complex because they integrate various processes, both formal, such as teaching and learning, as well as psychological situations, such as emotional intelligence, as the ability that human beings possess, it is appropriate to consider as the objective of this scientific essay type article; to understand emotional intelligence as one of the foundations for the construction of significant learning with a qualitative approach that allows the approach of the symbolic interactionism method, allowed, from the review of various authors who postulate emotional intelligence as a crucial experience in the educational relationship, therefore, the documentary analysis technique was applied for its interpretation. From there, the findings refer that learning processes must be assumed in relation to emotions, which depend largely on the stimuli received in the different environments that allow the approach to knowledge. The conclusions express how emotions are essential for the development of actions that favor the adoption of knowledge for life, such as otherness and empathy towards others. This consolidates a process in which both the teacher and the parents are essential, because they allow the management of emotions for the mastery of a variety of content.
