Abstract

The article aims to recognize the school as a space for the construction of knowledge and learning, based on the systematization of the research carried out by the seedbed: Little Ones and Giants of Research, from the Pio Morantes Educational Institution in the municipality of Tutazá (Boyacá). These students, involved in the Ondas program of Colciencias, conducted research that allowed them to build knowledge from the school context and to recover the traditions and heritage of the municipality. The research methodology corresponds to a qualitative approach, specifically ethnographic research, which allowed for the characterization of practices arising from the recognition of the territory and that integrate local cultural knowledge into the school curriculum. In conclusion, the research affirms the school as a territory of knowledge, which integrates culture, science, and community, resulting the emergence of a local pedagogical practice, where the teacher becomes an epistemological, political, and reflective subject of her practice.
