Abstract

This article presents a critical review of school coexistence, understood as an essential component of holistic education and the consolidation of healthy educational communities. Based on the analysis of various doctoral studies and recent scientific articles, it examines the strategies used by teachers to foster environments of respect, cooperation, and dialogue within the classroom. The review identified significant progress in the fields of education, emotional climate, and conflict mediation, as well as limitations related to the weak connection between school practices and family involvement. It highlights that institutional programs promoting the participation of parents and students—along with counseling support and the use of digital resources—strengthen the sense of belonging and the culture of peace within schools. Nevertheless, the findings also reveal the need for ongoing teacher training that enables a deeper understanding of the emotional and social factors influencing coexistence. In conclusion, the study reaffirms that educating for coexistence not only involves preventing conflict but also building relationships based on empathy, respect, and shared responsibility among all members of the educational community.
