Abstract

Burnout Syndrome has become a critical issue for secondary school teachers, negatively impacting their mental health, professional performance, and ethical sense of teaching. This article aims to reflect on the challenges posed by this phenomenon to contemporary education through a documentary analysis of empirical studies, doctoral theses, and philosophical-educational essays. Using a qualitative, interpretative, and reflective methodology, the research examines the structural causes of Burnout Syndrome, its manifestations in teaching practice, and its institutional implications. The main findings highlight labor precariousness as a risk factor, the erosion of pedagogical bonds due to emotional exhaustion, and the urgent need to rethink schooling from an ethics of care and complexity. It is concluded that addressing teacher Burnout Syndrome requires not only individual prevention strategies but also profound transformations in educational policies, institutional conditions, and the humanistic understanding of the teaching profession.
